Milan 2000. The Porta Nuova Garibaldi district

Milan 2000. The Porta Nuova Garibaldi district nessun credito

The site of one of the most radical and extended requalification projects in Europe, the area of the Porta Nuova Garibaldi district, once occupied by railroad tracks that today run nearby, has become a new focus for the Milanese “movida”. Not only: the same neighbourhood is now a crucial point for the new aesthetic of shopping and technology, thanks to the realization of numerous structures (mostly skyscrapers) that, in their functionality and their extraordinary architecture, have made their mark as the new symbols of a city in constant transformation.

Among the most significant new additions to the area are the "Bosco verticale" by Stefano Boeri, the “Spire" by Cesar Pelli, the "Diamantone" and "Palazzo Lombardia". A short distance away are the historic Pirellone, the Breda Tower and the Galfa tower.

A small cluster of buildings with a great aesthetic and monumental impact.
